With its growing popularity, wallpaper is back and more durable than ever. Infinite choices from large scale patterns to textured prints or scrubbable and washable options, make wallpaper a hot topic for interior design projects. General observation, people usually either like the wallpaper or dislike it. There is no in-between. When someone says wallpaper, what comes to your mind? 1960's wallpapers with trims and floral patterns? You will be amazed how far the wallpapers have came. Now a days, you can customize it to your design, or pick one that is organic and made from natural materials like lemongrass, natural sandal wood, fragrant grass, stone etc. There are thousands and thousands of wallpapers to choose from, even one with 24k gold and diamonds embedded into them.
So, why do wallpaper?
Wallpaper is all about your style and vibe:
For many people, making a statement could be intimidating, and it is fine. After all, we all want to be comfortable and feel ease at home. However, we strongly believe that all of us are unique in our own ways, and wallpaper is one of the ways to reflect that in home design.
Wallpaper is meant to be a statement, so find one that works with other elements in your room. If wallpapering a whole room feels like a daunting task, find a feature wall or an otherwise unusual place(s) in your home to turn into fabulous art. Powder rooms are a great place to start wallpapering, as a room like this is small enough to give you a sense of the difference between wallpapering a room and the usual paint color options. Wainscoting also is a great way to section off your space while utilizing both paint and wallpaper.
2. Beauty in simplicity
If being bold is not your style, then turn to understated materials like natural grasscloth, or wood. It can create your style in very much sophisticated manner. The addition of wallpaper, no matter how subtle, can go a long way to creating a personalized and beautifully curated look in your space. These days, there are loads of awesome geometric prints that capture a contemporary and high-energy vibe. In the right space, geometric wallpapers can feel light and fun, and add a playfulness to your room, even if the pattern or color is more subtle.
3. Feature wall
Don't want to break your bank to create a feature wall? No worries, we understand that. In the past, wallpapers were used as backdrop to cover all walls in the room and sometimes it just did not feel right. A feature wall is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to make a statement, using wallpaper like art. Featuring wallpaper on a single wall adds character, charm and individuality — like an original painting would. Feature walls also give you a chance to go big and bold with your paper choice so your wall really projects that art-like vibe.
